Early Career Archaeologists

Jason Cohen

Co-Chairperson

I am an American archaeologist new to the career! Having a background in international business and living in Asia for most of my adult life, like many people I had an epiphany during the pandemic and decided to make a major change in my life. Rather than buying a sportscar, as do many men in middle age, I decided to become an archaeologist. Coming to the career so much later in life, I am not a ‘young’ archaeologist, but a true early career archaeologist and hence am eager to make professional connections and learn from my peers. This is what brought me to the ECA.

I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of Cambridge focusing on kinship in the Migration Period of early Medieval England.
